The President provided the commendation during a conference with NELFUND Chairman, Mr. Jim Ovia, and the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Akintunde Sawyerr, in Abuja.
Tinubu applauded the company for its progress in delivering interest-free trainee loans to qualified Nigerians, explaining the initiative as a major step towards removing monetary barriers to higher education.
He likewise admired the leadership of NELFUND Managing Director/CEO, Mr. Akintunde Sawyerr, for driving the program and making sure that countless trainees have higher access to quality education.
According to the agency, NELFUND has so far disbursed more than 303 billion in interest-free trainee loans, benefiting over 1.64 million students throughout Nigeria.
