The Lagos State Government has announced a brand-new date for the 2026 positioning test into public junior secondary schools, moving the evaluation from Saturday, July 25, to Tuesday, July 28.

The placement test, organised annually by the Lagos State Examinations Board (LSEB), is conducted for students completing main school who are looking for admission into public junior secondary schools across the state.

The change was revealed by the Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education through a statement shared on the Lagos State Government’s official X page on Tuesday.

Explaining the reason for the change, the Registrar of the Lagos State Examinations Board, Mr Adebayo Orunsolu, stated the original date clashed with the state’s regular monthly environmental sanitation exercise, which takes place on the last Saturday of each month.

He noted that the motion constraints associated with the sanitation exercise might interrupt transport for candidates, moms and dads, guardians and evaluation authorities taking a trip to different examination centres.

According to Orunsolu, the board approved Tuesday, July 28, as the new evaluation date to ensure the smooth conduct of the workout and reduce hassle for all celebrations included.

He advised moms and dads, school authorities, guardians and prospects to bear in mind of the revised schedule and make the essential preparations ahead of the evaluation.

The registrar guaranteed stakeholders that all logistics had been put in place to guarantee a smooth, transparent and credible positioning test.

He also apologised for any hassle the rescheduling may trigger and appreciated stakeholders for their understanding, cooperation and continued assistance.

Orunsolu reaffirmed the board’s dedication to maintaining high requirements in the administration of public assessments across Lagos State.
