The Joint Admissions and Enlisting Board (JAMB) has participated in a collaboration with the University of Cape Coast (UCC), Ghana, to reinforce its archives, library, and gallery management in line with international finest practices.

The cooperation was announced by the JAMB Registrar, Prof. Is-haq Oloyede, throughout an expanded management conference at the Board’s National Headquarters in Abuja, went to by a delegation from the Ghanaian university.

Oloyede said the effort shows JAMB’s commitment to benchmarking with leading institutions to enhance its operations and preserve its institutional heritage. He disclosed that the Board had concluded strategies to construct a modern Archives, Library and Gallery complex at its headquarters following recommendations from a JAMB delegation led by the Director of Quality Assurance, Hon. Danladi Muhammed, after a study visit to the University of Cape Coast.

According to him, JAMB established its internal archives about four years ago with assistance from the National Archives of Nigeria, and the facility, currently handled by the Quality Assurance Department, will be upgraded through the new partnership. He included that the Board’s scholastic and administrative libraries would be incorporated into the proposed complex to enhance efficiency and improve access to info.

Speaking on behalf of the University of Cape Coast delegation, Acting Deputy University Curator, Dr. Gloria Tachie-Donkor, applauded JAMB for embracing benchmarking as a method for institutional advancement.

She advised the Board to establish a comprehensive implementation roadmap supported by quality architectural designs, digital technologies, adequate furnishings, functional handbooks, and sustainable funding to make sure the long-term success of the job.

The partnership is expected to strengthen JAMB’s capability in records preservation, knowledge management, and institutional paperwork while promoting international cooperation and the adoption of worldwide requirements in archive and library administration.
