The National Association of Nigerian Trainees (NANS) has made up a high-powered committee to examine and evaluate the effect of interventions by the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund) across Nigeria’s tertiary organizations.

According to a statement released by the Office of the National President of NANS, the committee has actually been mandated to examine the level, quality, and efficiency of TETFund-funded projects and programmes in universities, polytechnics, and colleges of education across the country.

The committee is anticipated to submit its findings and suggestions within ninety (90) days. NANS stated the report would supply the basis for the association’s next course of action in identifying the real state of TETFund intervention projects and their impact on the country’s tertiary education sector.

The student body further revealed that recommendations occurring from the committee’s report would be forwarded to the Presidency, the Federal Ministry of Education, and other pertinent stakeholders for necessary action aimed at enhancing accountability and task shipment.

The committee is chaired by Pal Salahudeen A. Lukman, while other members consist of Comrade Okereke Godson Bishop, Dominic Philip AVM, Odiahi Thomas Ikhine, Wande T. Ajayi, and Ibrahim A. Ibrahim. Gambo Abubakar will work as the committee’s secretary.

Speaking on the effort, the leadership of NANS called on tertiary institutions, trainee leaders, TETFund authorities, specialists, and other stakeholders to work together completely with the committee in the discharge of its project.

NANS stressed that the exercise is part of efforts to promote transparency, responsibility, quality project execution, and the general advancement of tertiary education in Nigeria.

The association expressed optimism that the committee’s work would supply valuable insights into the efficiency of TETFund interventions and help enhance the country’s higher education system.
