Borno State Guv, Prof. Babagana Umara Zulum, has granted N1 million each to 30 graduating trainees of the Indimi Trust Islamic Centre who effectively memorised the Holy Qur’an.
The guv presented the money gifts at the Indimi Mosque along the Old Damboa Roadway in Maiduguri throughout a ceremony organised to commemorate the graduates, who were completely sponsored by distinguished philanthropist and businessman, Alhaji Muhammadu Indimi, through the Indimi Islamic Trust.
Zulum, while addressing Islamic scholars at the occasion, advised them to intensify their efforts in preaching modesty, ethical discipline and other values that promote responsible conduct in society.
The ceremony was participated in by Islamic scholars, senior federal government officials and members of business community from throughout Borno State.
Indimi, who has actually regularly supported education and humanitarian efforts in the North-East and other parts of Nigeria, just recently contributed N2 billion to the University of Maiduguri education endowment fund.
