
The Lagos State Ministry of Fundamental and Secondary Education has directed instant tracking and inspection of schools throughout the state ahead of the third-term resumption, to ensure compliance with safety standards and general preparedness for academic activities.
The Commissioner for Basic and Secondary Education, Jamiu Alli-Balogun, released the instruction in preparation for the official resumption on Monday, May 4, 2026, for all public and private main and secondary schools, including Government Technical Colleges, in line with the approved scholastic calendar.
According to a declaration obtained from the federal government’s Facebook page on Sunday, evaluation groups will be deployed throughout the state to examine adherence to required standards, consisting of environmental sanitation, schedule of learning centers, and prompt resumption of both trainees and personnel.
School administrators were encouraged to resume immediately, maintain correct records, and make sure that mentor and learning activities start from the very first day to avoid delays in academic work.
The Permanent Secretary in the ministry, Abisola Dokunmu-Adegbite, declared the federal government’s dedication to keeping high standards in the education sector, noting that compliance with safety and sanitation procedures stays a top priority.
