The University of Ibadan has actually selected a new Vice-Chancellor ahead of the expiration of the tenure of the organization’s current leadership.
The visit was authorized by the Governing Council of the university following a selection process including prospects from within and outside the organization.
The freshly selected Vice-Chancellor is expected to presume office when the tenure of the incumbent, Professor Kayode Adebowale, ends on November 1, 2026.
UI had earlier started the process of designating its 14th substantive Vice-Chancellor through an internal and external ad issued by the Registrar and Secretary to Council, Ganiyu Saliu. The position ended up being uninhabited as part of the transition plans for the next administration.
