The University of Port Harcourt, UNIPORT, has called for applications for the 2026/2027 academic session under the TAGDev 2.0 Programme. The programme is run by the Regional Universities Forum for Capability Building in Farming, RUFORUM, in partnership with the Mastercard Structure and a number of African universities. It is targeted at young Africans studying agriculture and associated fields.

a 10-year programme running from 2023 to 2033. The plan is established to support universities and technical institutions across Africa. It concentrates on providing students the abilities required for inclusive, fair, and climate-resilient farming modification. For UNIPORT candidates, that focus is plain; agriculture sits at the centre of it.
Who can request the UNIPORT TAGDev scholarship
The award is meant for trainees who are academically capable however face financial challenge.

Eligibility requirements
Applicants should:
- Be Nigerian people or refugees living in Nigeria
- Come from financially disadvantaged or marginalised communities
- Be under 25 years for undergraduate study

- B.Sc. Animal Science
- B.Sc. Food Science and Nutrition
Postgraduate programmes
Qualified master’s courses are:
- M.Sc. Fisheries and Aquatic Sciences
- M.Sc. Agribusiness Management
- M.Sc. Crop Science
What the scholarship will cover
The TAGDev scholarship is fully funded.
It will cover:
- Tuition fees
- Accommodation and living expenses
- Research and training costs
- Laptop computer
- Internship and field accessories
- Entrepreneurship training
How to make an application for the UNIPORT TAGDev scholarship
The application procedure has 3 stages.
Stage 1: Complete the online form
Candidates are to complete the online Google application form.
Stage 2: Obtain admission
Undergraduate applicants need to use through JAMB.
Postgraduate applicants should use through the UNIPORT School of Graduate Studies.
Stage 3: Apply through RIMS
Applicants must also look for the scholarship through the RUFORUM Details Management System, RIMS.

Candidates are required to submit relevant documents, consisting of:
