The University of Ilorin has actually promoted 13 members of its academic personnel to the rank of Professor across several disciplines.
The institution announced the promos in a statement released on its site and social networks platforms on Sunday.
The freshly promoted academics are drawn from fields consisting of medical sciences, education and pharmaceutical research studies, with the Department of Educational Management recording the greatest number of elevations.
Five academics from the department were promoted to professorial rank. They are A. T. Muritala, A. A. Lawal, A. A. Atolagbe, O. J. Ojo and A. A. Tijani.
Other academics who achieved the rank of Professor include Mary O. Ologe of the Department of Pharmacology and Therapeutics; Hafsat A. Ameen of Public Health and Neighborhood Health; and Oluwabunmi I. N. Buhari of Behavioural Sciences.
The list also includes A. Saidu of Arts Education; Aminat A. Odebode and Falilat A. Okesina of Counsellor Education; A. M. Akanmu of Science Education; and S. T. Abdullahi of Pharmaceutical and Medical Chemistry.
The university said the current elevations form part of its academic development process and bring the total number of academics promoted to professorial rank in the impacted departments to 13.

The latest development adds to a series of scholastic promotions tape-recorded by the organization in recent years.
In February 2025, the university’s Governing Council approved the promo of 51 academic team member to the ranks of Professor and Reader throughout different faculties.
Of the 51 academics, 20 Senior Speakers rose to the rank of Professor, while 31 academics were promoted from Senior Speaker to Reader.
The 2025 promos followed suggestions from the University’s Appointments and Promotions Committee, which existed to the Governing Council by the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Wahab Egbewole, SAN, at its conference on January 27, 2025.
The university had likewise revealed the promotion of 40 senior academics to the rank of Teacher in 2024. The elevations followed suggestions by the University Consultations and Promotions Committee and were authorized by the then Minister of Education, Prof. Tahir Mamman, SAN.
