The Universal Basic Education Commission(UBEC ), in partnership with the FCT Universal Basic Education Board (FCT-UBEB), has officially flagged off the distribution of educational materials to public standard schools in the Federal Capital Territory.

The effort forms part of a nationwide effort to strengthen foundational education shipment and improve access, equity, and quality of discovering throughout Nigeria.

According to UBEC, the programme will see the release of over 7 million core books, alongside thousands of ancillary learning products such as exercise books and composing tools to support efficient mentor and learning in classrooms.

In addition, the intervention consists of the circulation of more than 40 interactive SMART boards and over 30 desktop computers targeted at enhancing digital learning in schools.

The Commission noted that the initiative constructs on broader national accomplishments in the fundamental education sector, including the circulation of over 400,000 mentor and learning materials, targeted interventions for out-of-school kids, and continuous instructor capacity-building programmes that have trained more than 500 teachers.

UBEC emphasised that through continual partnership with State Universal Basic Education Boards and other stakeholders, it remains dedicated to advancing reforms that will enhance literacy, numeracy, and general knowing outcomes across the country.

“This intervention underscores our cumulative dedication to improving gain access to, equity, and quality in fundamental education across Nigeria, ensuring that every child is equipped with the tools required to learn efficiently and thrive,” the Commission mentioned.

Reaffirming the significance of education as a structure for national development, UBEC added: “Education stays the bedrock of nationwide development, and this effort reflects our ongoing willpower to make sure no kid is left.”

The rollout, flagged off in Abuja, is anticipated to significantly increase mentor and discovering results in public fundamental schools across the FCT and beyond.
