The Benue State Government has left its indigenes studying at University of Jos following escalating security concerns in Jos.

The precautionary relocation comes amid recent violence and increasing stress in parts of Plateau State, prompting authorities to prioritise the security of trainees.

Federal government authorities divulged that buses were released to assist in the safe transportation of the trainees back to Benue State.

According to the state federal government, the evacuation is a proactive step targeted at securing lives as the security circumstance in the impacted locations stays unpredictable.

“The evacuation was performed to ensure the safety of our trainees as tensions continue. Their well-being stays our leading concern,” the federal government stated.
