IGBOORA, OYO STATE— The Oyo State College of Farming and Technology (OYSCATECH), Igboora, officially inducted 1,996 trainees into its National Diploma (ND) and Greater National Diploma (HND) programs on Wednesday, March 4, 2026.
The 17th admission event, held at the institution’s main campus, worked as a platform for the college to display its growth into degree-awarding collaborations and considerable infrastructural upgrades.
Resolving the fresh trainees, the Rector, Prof. Akinola Akinlabi, highlighted the college’s zero-tolerance policy for social vices and its dedication to producing “ingenious, self-reliant contributors to food sufficiency.”
The Rector revealed that the college processed thousands of applications, ultimately picking around 2,000 candidates across full-time and part-time streams.

“The training you will receive here is developed to equip you for life beyond the polytechnic,” Prof. Akinlabi mentioned, prompting trainees to check out the vast chances in the agribusiness sector.
In a major milestone for the organization, Prof. Akinlabi announced that OYSCATECH has successfully bridged the space in between polytechnic and university education through brand-new affiliations;
-
FUNAAB Association: The college has started degree programs in collaboration with the Federal University of Farming, Abeokuta. This allows HND “top-up” candidates and Direct Entry trainees to obtain degrees without leaving the Igboora campus.
-
LAUTECH Partnership: The institution has officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Ogbomoso, to run extra degree programmes.
Prof. Akinlabi expressed thankfulness to Guv Seyi Makinde for his sustained support, particularly the consistent payment of staff incomes, which he credited for the industrial consistency currently taken pleasure in on campus.
The ceremony concluded with the administration of the admission oath by the Registrar’s representative, Mr. Olajire Gbadamosi.
