Wellspring University, Benin City, has gotten approval from the National Universities Commission (NUC) to begin five brand-new undergraduate programmes in the health sciences starting with the 2026/2027 academic session.

The organization revealed the advancement in a statement released on Tuesday, noting that the approval followed a successful resource verification exercise carried out by an NUC accreditation group.

The newly authorized programmes consist of Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS), B.Sc. Human Anatomy, B.Sc. Human Physiology, Bachelor of Health Information Management and Bachelor of Community Health Science.

According to the university, the approval marks another significant action in its efforts to widen its academic offerings and reinforce its contribution to health care education in Nigeria.

The management stated the outcome of the verification exercise reflects the commission’s confidence in the institution’s academic centers, governance structure, teaching resources and overall preparedness to provide programmes that fulfill nationwide quality requirements.
