Normal registration closes on Monday, 25 May 2026.
Late registration closes on Friday, 29 May 2026.
The declaration said: “The last date for the typical registration of prospects by schools is Monday, 25th May 2026, while the deadline for late registration is Friday, 29th May 2026, with no further extension.”
NECO made its position plain; there will be no further extension after the late registration window closes.
That notice applies to schools, school owners, principals, and commandants handling prospect entries for the 2026 SSCE cycle. The council advised all worried parties to keep strictly to the timetable so candidates can be registered on time.
Why the deadline matters
The registrar stated meeting these dates supports the smooth conduct of the SSCE.
The evaluation stays a significant national examination used in decisions connected to tertiary education, scholarships, and other post-secondary openings. A missed out on registration due date might stop a candidate from sitting the evaluation; that can affect scholastic development.
What schools must do now
Schools are expected to complete all registration actions within the regular or late registration period, depending on their stage in the process.
NECO’s message is direct and firm. The council stated it is keeping stakeholders notified of key dates while promoting a smoother exam procedure throughout the 2026 SSCE cycle.
