
The program addresses students who desire not only to discover how to apply physical methods in medical practice however also to explore the fundamental physical concepts of living systems. Trainees immerse themselves in subjects such as the biophysics of cells and tissues and become familiarized with novel tools for medical diagnostics and therapy in addition to biomolecular modeling and artificial intelligence methods.
Trainees can select between two specialization tracks: “Medical Physics” prepares them for a career as a Medical Physics Professional (MPE) in medical facilities or for a position in the health care sector and related research study. “Physics of Living Systems” focuses on comprehending biological processes through the lens of physics. Students obtain sophisticated abilities in areas such as neuroinformatics and biochemistry, along with finding out modern bioscientific methods.
“With the’M. Enrollment for the start of the program in the 2025/26 winter season term is possible until 10 October 2025. It is open to anybody holding a Bachelor’s degree in physics, biomedical engineering, mechanical engineering or an associated subject and with English language abilities at level B2 or greater. Students who have finished their Bachelor’s degree in Germany may register via the campus portal. International students who are EU residents or trainees who have earned their Bachelor’s degree in an EU member state must submit their applications to the International Office. Trainees who are not EU citizens and hold a Bachelor’s degree from a non-EU nation should submit their applications via uni-assist, the service point for global trainee applications. This will be possible again for the 2026 summertime term.
