IFAKO IJAIYE, LAGOS— In a significant community-led facilities intervention, the Ikeja Dynamics (Model) Lions Club has formally turned over a fully restored block of 6 classrooms and a freshly drilled water borehole system to the management of Karaole Main School in the Ifako Ijaiye City Government Area of Lagos State.

The comprehensive facility upgrade, which cost countless naira, was commissioned by Lion Oluwakemi Eribake, the District Governor of District 404B2 Nigeria, to mark a crucial turning point in the 2025/2026 Lions Service Year.

The setup consists of a practical borehole paired with a 1,200-litre overhead water storage tank, presenting a clean, constant supply of water to a school population that formerly did not have basic sanitation facilities.

Reversing Years of Extreme Learning Environment Deficits

The choice to overhaul the facility followed an extensive baseline examination by club executives, which exposed hazardous knowing conditions for both pupils and teaching staff.

The President of the Ikeja Dynamics (Design) Lions Club for the 2025/2026 service year, Lion Oladele Adeniran Somefun, noted that the school’s structural state was seriously jeopardized before the intervention.

To methodically transition the institution from a state of structural decay to a modern knowing environment, the club performed a coordinated series of civil and electrical engineering improvements, including:

1. Reconstruct Roofing System Systems and Internal Ceilings: Engineers removed off old, broken products, replacing them with weather-resistant roofing sheets and new internal ceilings to avoid seasonal rain leakage.

2. Bring Back Grid Connectivity and Core Internal Ventilation: Professionals entirely rewired the six-classroom block, reconnecting the class to the power grid and setting up ceiling fans to regulate heat.

3. Drill Borehole Line and Update Exterior Finishes: Contractors sank a deep-well borehole connected to a 1,200-litre tank, followed by comprehensive masonry repair work and fresh repainting across the school block.

Direct Capital Assistance and Alumni Mobilisation

The Service Chairperson of the club, Lion Adenekan Constable, exposed that the project brought an emotional connection for the organisation, noting that President Somefun is an alumnus of Karaole Main School.

This individual connection assisted mobilise resources from members and secure vital grant financing from the Lions Clubs International Structure (LCIF).

Receiving the keys to the new facility, the Head Teacher of Karaole Main School, Adeyemi Sidikat, revealed extensive gratitude on behalf of the professors and students.

She stressed that the intervention has offered the historical public institution a new lease on life, making sure that future generations of Ifako Ijaiye pupils can discover in an environment that secures their health and dignity.
