The best graduating trainee of Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH), Ogbomoso, Oladepo Caleb Olugbenga, has associated his scholastic achievement to the Federal government’s NELFUND student loan plan introduced by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Olugbenga, who graduated from the Department of Electronic and Electrical Engineering with a cumulative grade point average of 4.89, said the loan plan provided crucial financial backing throughout his research studies.
“I’m honored to let you know that I am the very best Graduating Student of @lautechofficial. Your loans made it possible,” he stated.
He became the leading trainee amongst 7,641 graduates commemorated at the university’s 18th convocation event kept in Ogbomoso, Oyo State, where 137 students bagged Very first Class honours.
Vice Chancellor, Rasaq Kalilu, stated the Professors of Agricultural Sciences recorded the greatest number of First Class graduates with 28, followed by Agricultural Science and Renewable Natural Resources with 23. The Professors of Engineering and Innovation, and Computing and Informatics produced 16 and 10 Very first Class graduates respectively.
“Out of this figure, 137 students are finishing with First class classification, 1,889 of them in the 2nd class upper classification, 1,008 students in the third class category and 37 graduands in the pass category,” Kalilu stated.
He charged the finishing students to remain focused and support the values of the organization.
“The world has plenty of chances for you to explore and conquer … Being a LADOKITE is a distinct brand name of excellence … Never stop thinking in yourselves,” he added.
Olugbenga’s remarks have contributed to continuous conversations on the significance of trainee financing in broadening access to college in Nigeria.
