The Lagos State Universal Basic Education Board (LASUBEB) has commenced a statewide awareness project targeted at protecting pupils from sexual abuse while promoting individual security, body autonomy and menstrual hygiene amongst ladies in public primary schools.
According to a declaration issued by the board on Sunday, the initiative brought together teachers, education stakeholders and kid protection supporters to educate pupils on recognising violent behaviour, securing themselves, reporting cases of abuse and embracing healthy hygiene practices.
Speaking during the program, the Executive Chairman of LASUBEB, Hakeem Shittu, represented by board member Adewale Babatunde, declared the board’s dedication to making sure that every kid learns in a safe, safe and secure and inclusive environment.
He stressed that the Lagos State Government maintains a company stance versus sexual abuse, exploitation and all kinds of violence including kids.

A kid counsellor, Dr Yemi Ayemoba, educated the pupils on body autonomy, individual limits and useful methods to prevent sexual assault.
