ILORIN, KWARA STATE— The Kwara State Government has actually launched a rigorous two-day training program for Technical Company (TSPs) as part of a massive infrastructure drive under the Teenager Girls Initiative for Learning and Empowerment (AGILE) task.
The initiative aims to oversee the rehabilitation of 898 public junior and senior secondary schools across the state, alongside the building and construction of brand-new facilities in 26 flagship schools.
During the flag-off event in Ilorin on Friday, March 6, 2026, the Commissioner for Education and Human Being Capital Development, Dr Lawal Olohungbebe, emphasised that the job is a foundation of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq’s dedication to boosting susceptible groups and adolescent ladies.

While the physical remodelling of almost 900 schools is a central pillar, the AGILE job, supported by the World Bank, is a multi-dimensional intervention.
Dr Olohungbebe kept in mind that the job is designed to offer a “lifeline” to the economic and academic potential customers of ladies through several essential sub-programs.
The Project Organizer for Kwara AGILE, Mr Adeshina Salami, clarified the distinct role of the Technical Company.
Unlike standard professionals, these TSPs, consisting of architects, civil engineers, and quantity surveyors, are entrusted with supporting School-Based Management Committees (SBMCs) to ensure quality assurance and compliance with worldwide requirements.
“These experts are to guarantee quality shipment and compliance with environmental and social standards,” Salami discussed.
He added that the School Enhancement Grants (SIG) are tailored particularly to the size and requirements of each institution.
A crucial aspect of the training focuses on the Environmental and Social Management Plan (ESMP). Mrs Nkechi Ikemefuna, an Ecological Safeguard Officer from the National Project Coordinating System in Abuja, stressed that the rehab process must be managed to prevent “collateral” neighborhood issues.
The AGILE job stays a five-year strategic partnership meant to bridge the gender space in secondary education throughout Nigeria.
By gearing up schools with modern-day facilities and digital tools, Kwara State aims to create a safe, conducive, and highly appropriate environment for the next generation of female leaders.
