Fresh details have emerged in the abduction of a University of Jos (UNIJOS) trainee, John Arun Azi, who was abducted together with six others in Kaduna State, as an individual has actually been called as a suspected wrongdoer.
The advancement followed a viral video revealing the victims being attacked by their captors, which emerged online and stimulated public outrage.
A social networks commentator, popularly called “D English Alhaji,” revealed that he was gotten in touch with by a source who declared to recognise among the kidnappers in the video. The suspect was determined as Musa Maliya.
According to the source, Maliya had apparently been associated with a previous kidnapping incident in which the victim’s brother was abducted. The source alleged that in spite of gathering a ransom of N7.5 million, the victim was eliminated, and his vehicle– a Toyota Corolla– was taken.
Additional claims recommend that the suspect runs around the Manama location and keeps an active presence on TikTok. The informant reportedly offered extra information, consisting of photographs and contact details connected to the suspect’s household.
In a twist, the suspect’s older bro, who was called, apparently confirmed that the household is also looking for Musa. He disclosed that the suspect had previously been jailed for a similar offence and that he (the brother) stood as surety for his bail. The court has since held him accountable for producing the suspect, who is said to have gone into hiding and frequently misguided relative about his whereabouts.
The sibling also declared that Musa often lodges in hotels under the guise of being a miner, making it challenging to trace his motions.
Meanwhile, the kidnappers are reportedly demanding a ransom of N30 million for the release of the abducted victims.
As of the time of filing this report, law enforcement authorities have yet to provide a main declaration on the recognition of the suspect or the continuous rescue efforts.
