The Joint Admissions and Enlisting Board (JAMB) has delisted 23 Computer-Based Test (CBT) centres throughout Nigeria following technical deficiencies observed during the 2026 Mock Unified Tertiary Admission Evaluation (UTME).

The development was revealed in a declaration released on Friday in Abuja by JAMB’s Public Communication Advisor, Fabian Benjamin.

According to the board, while numerous centres were provided cautions over minor functional lapses, one centre in Lagos State has been completely disallowed from participating in any future JAMB evaluations.

Benjamin explained that the mock UTME works as a crucial preparatory exercise targeted at acquainting candidates with the CBT environment, while also making it possible for the board to evaluate the preparedness of accredited evaluation centres.

He noted that a post-examination technical evaluation revealed that some centres stopped working to fulfill the required functional standards.

“The exercise supplies the board with the chance to evaluate centers, recognize technical shortcomings and make sure just centres that comply with functional standards participate in the primary UTME,” he said.

He included that the sanctions troubled the affected centres align with JAMB’s commitment to maintaining the credibility, integrity, and smooth conduct of its examinations nationwide.

Encouraging prospects, Benjamin advised those preparing for the primary UTME to stay calm, worrying that required adjustments would be made to guarantee no prospect is disadvantaged.

He further alerted that centres put on notice should urgently resolve determined concerns or face stricter sanctions.

Reiterating the board’s zero-tolerance policy for technical failures, JAMB ensured prospects of boosted tracking systems ahead of the primary assessment.

Candidates were likewise recommended to continue printing their evaluation notification slips to validate their schedules, venues, and examination times.
