
Gunmen on Friday invaded Ahoro-Esinele neighborhood in Oriire City government Location of Oyo State, snatching the principal of a secondary school and an undefined variety of trainees.
The occurrence took place between 8:00 a.m. and 9:00 a.m. at Neighborhood High School, Ahoro-Esinele, according to the Oyo State Authorities Command.
Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Ayanlade Olayinka, verified the attack in a statement provided on Friday, saying the gunmen stormed the school facilities and whisked away the school principal, Mrs Rachael Alamu, along with several students whose number has yet to be verified.
He included that a teacher was reportedly shot during the attack, although the extent of the injury remains unclear.
According to the declaration, the attackers fled the scene with the principal in her lorry and left into a neighboring forest reserve surrounding the community.
Citizens reportedly stated the range of the closest police station postponed an instant security response to the incident.
The cops command disclosed that the Commissioner of Cops had released officers to the area for assessment and rescue operations.
