The Federal University of Innovation, Akure (FUTA) has designated Professor Hezekiah Adedayo Ayoola as the Performing Dean of its newly established School of Architecture.

The appointment, authorized by the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Adenike Oladiji, took effect from August 1, 2026.

Up until his new appointment, Professor Ayoola served as the Head of the Department of Architecture, a position he held from August 1, 2023. He is expected to leader the newly produced School of Architecture and provide the management required to place it for scholastic excellence.

A prominent scholastic and researcher with competence in architecture, real estate and environment-behaviour studies, Ayoola has over 18 years of experience in mentor, research and university administration.

He made his Medical professional of Viewpoint (Ph.D.) in Architecture from Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, in 2015, after acquiring his M.Phil. and Master of Architecture degrees from the exact same organization. He likewise holds a Bachelor of Innovation (Honours) degree in Architecture from Ladoke Akintola University of Innovation, Ogbomoso.

Teacher Ayoola started his scholastic career as an Assistant Speaker at Joseph Ayo Babalola University, Ikeji-Arakeji, in 2009 before joining FUTA as a Lecturer II in October 2011. He rose through the academic ranks and was promoted to the rank of Professor in 2023.

Throughout his career, he has released more than 60 academic posts in respectable local and global journals and conference proceedings. He has also monitored several postgraduate trainees at the master’s and doctoral levels.

Ayoola is a registered member of the Architects Registration Council of Nigeria (ARCON), the Nigerian Institute of Architects (NIA), and the Association of Architectural Educators in Nigeria (AARCHES). He was just recently authorized for elevation to the rank of Fellow of the Nigerian Institute of Architects.

FUTA said the Performing Dean is anticipated to offer strategic management for the School of Architecture, guide its staff and students, and drive its development in line with the university’s vision of scholastic excellence and development.
