LOKOJA, KOGI– A wave of sorrow has swept through the trainee community of the Kogi State College of Health Sciences and Technology, Idah, following the tragic death of a final-year student, Ismail AbdulKarim, who was squashed to death by a speeding articulated automobile.

The deadly mishap took place on Friday afternoon in the Felele area of Lokoja, the Kogi State capital, straight opposite the Kogi State Polytechnic campus.

In a press instruction following the mishap, Associate Hassan Mustapha, the NAKOSS Chapter President of the Kogi State College of Health Sciences and Technology, explained the deceased as a shining light.

FRSC Confirms Mishap Details

Verifying the event to newsmen, the Kogi State Sector Commander of the Federal Roadway Security Corps (FRSC), Lawan Fagge, stated that emergency situation rescue operatives were deployed to the scene right away after receiving the distress call.

Fagge divulged that the accident included a haulage truck bearing registration number KMC 23 YQ.

The Sector Leader included that the remains of the trainee have been evacuated and deposited at the morgue of the Federal Mentor Health Center, Lokoja, where an autopsy will be carried out.

Fagge utilized the medium to warn pedestrians against hazardous motions along major transit passages.

He similarly cautioned truck drivers to preserve rigorous speed limits when going through built-up school zones and trainee property communities within the state capital.
