The Federal Government, in partnership with the UNESCO International Institute for Capability Structure in Africa (UNESCO-IICBA) and the Pan African University (PAU), has released a mobile learning effort aimed at reinforcing teacher professional development throughout Africa.
The initiative was revealed on Monday at the opening of a three-day Master Training Program in Abuja, themed “Empowering Female Teachers and School Leaders through Integrating Mobile-based Knowing in the Pan-African Virtual and Electronic University (PAVEU) Effort.” The program will range from July 21 to 23, 2026.
According to a declaration released by the Federal Ministry of Education, the task is moneyed by the Government of Japan and targets five African nations– Algeria, Cameroon, Kenya, Nigeria and South Sudan.
The ministry stated the initiative looks for to broaden access to quality constant professional advancement, especially for female instructors and school leaders, through versatile, technology-driven knowing platforms.
The program leverages mobile innovation to address challenges such as time restrictions, geographical barriers and inadequate facilities, making it possible for educators to gain access to learning resources anytime and anywhere through a low-data, offline-friendly platform.
