
The Federal Capital Area(FCT)Authorities Command has actually dismissed reports of an alleged kidnapping of students at Phase 1 Primary School, Gbagalape, Abuja, explaining the event as a false alarm.
The Command’s spokesperson, SP Josephine Adeh, disclosed that officers connected to the Nyanya Department received a distress signal at about 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, June 4, alleging that a kidnapping remained in development at the school.
According to her, the Divisional Law Enforcement Officer (DPO) of Nyanya Division immediately mobilised officers and monitoring teams to the scene to validate the report and secure the area.
Preliminary investigations, nevertheless, revealed that students had suddenly started shouting “abductors” and running out of the school premises, causing panic among instructors and members of the surrounding community.
Adeh said police operatives swiftly cordoned off the school and carried out a comprehensive search of the facilities.
She discussed that substantial searches and questioning of individuals within and around the school showed that no kidnapping had actually happened, no suspect was spotted and no victim was determined.
The representative added that officers also browsed surrounding hills, limits and adjoining locations, while nearby schools were visited as part of precautionary security measures focused on guaranteeing public safety.
