
The Federal Ministry of Education has revealed strategies to assemble a top-level stakeholders’ workshop on the Nigeria Education Data Facilities (NEDI) as part of efforts to reinforce education data management and digital transformation throughout the country.
According to a press release provided on Wednesday, the workshop is scheduled to hold on Thursday, May 14, 2026, and will bring together crucial stakeholders from the education sector, government organizations, examination bodies, development partners, and the media.
The Ministry mentioned that the initiative is focused on establishing a merged and trustworthy national education information system capable of integrating and harmonising data throughout basic, secondary, and tertiary institutions, in addition to pertinent firms nationwide.
The statement discussed that the Nigeria Education Data Infrastructure is developed to function as a main platform for education data management, offering precise and prompt info to support evidence-based policymaking, improve transparency and responsibility, and enhance planning within the sector.
As part of the task advancement procedure, the Ministry engaged Ernst & Young (EY) to support the design of the system architecture and combination structure that will connect key education information sources throughout the nation.
The workshop is likewise expected to display progress made on the initiative, demonstrate how institutions and firms will incorporate into the platform, and provide an avenue for stakeholder feedback ahead of complete execution.
The Ministry kept in mind that the initiative aligns with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda and reflects the Federal Government’s commitment to constructing a technology-driven education sector anchored on dependable information and development.
