Education District VI of the Lagos State Ministry of Education has inducted 80 recently utilized instructors as part of efforts to strengthen the state’s education system and promote professionalism in the mentor service.
Speaking at the induction ceremony, the Tutor-General/Permanent Secretary of Education District VI, Mrs. Mojisola Christiana Yusuff, charged the new teachers to approach their responsibilities with dedication, discipline and stability.
Yusuff worried the significance of respecting trainees, preparing lesson notes ahead of classes and keeping high expert standards in the discharge of their duties.
She also urged the teachers to familiarise themselves with the Kid Protection and Safeguarding Act, maintain cordial relationships with moms and dads and live within their methods to prevent financial humiliation.
The Tutor-General/Permanent Secretary warned the new instructors against what she described as the “3 Is” capable of weakening the education system: unlawful admissions, prohibited collection of cash and illegal affairs within the school environment.
She further recommended teachers who mean to leave the service to follow due procedure and formally resign rather than absconding from their tasks.
Other directors at the ceremony motivated the conscripts to acquaint themselves with the Public Service Rules and support responsibility, discipline and professionalism throughout their professions.
The event ended with congratulatory messages to the 80 brand-new instructors as they began their professions in the teaching service and took on the duty of contributing to the education and future of Lagos State trainees.
