COOU Study, Work and Earn Initiative for Trainees

Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University, COOU, says its Organization Ventures Committee is set to integrate students into the”Research study, Work and Earn “effort. The University Management, through the Committee, said numerous trainees engage in hawking to fund their studies or add to what they get from moms and dads. Following a series of engagements with trainees, the Committee stated it developed structured openings for trainees. It stated the relocation fits the vision of the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Kate Azuka Omenugha, to make the university economically practical and development-driven under her 3Vs Agenda.

The Committee also stated the strategy keeps the campus student-centred, while offering space for academic and company growth.

What the initiative provides

The Committee stated a lot of the openings are flexible and relatively worry-free for students.

One part of the plan covers plastic and waste recycling. Students who participate are expected to gather plastic cans and sachet-water waste until the products reach 10kg and above. After that, they are paid.

The Committee provided this as a practical way for students to generate income while in school.

How students can join

Interested students are anticipated to follow the procedure set out by the Committee.

Initially, trainees are to register and get a main authorisation letter that allows them to operate within the school environment. The registration is free.

The Committee included a clear limit here; the registration enables students to introduce and promote products within their instant lecture environment or scholastic location.

It does not allow the screen of items on tables or wandering sales throughout campus.

Part-time work for trainees

The Committee stated it has actually engaged school business operators to create part-time task openings for trainees.
