
The Ashanti Regional Cops Command has actually arrested a teacher of Nyinahin Catholic Senior High School following the circulation of a viral video revealing the assault of a female trainee.
The suspect, identified as Eric Buernortey Apaflo, 39, was nabbed by a Nyinahini District Police Patrol Group at about 7:00 p.m. on June 8, 2026, after reports emerged that he had attacked an 18-year-old student, Patience Chibu.
According to a cops declaration, initial investigations revealed that the suspect, who functions as a caretaker of the school’s hostel, challenged the trainee and a number of male trainees over alleged misconduct at the hostel. Authorities said a misconception took place throughout the conflict, resulting in the assault on the female student.
The incident reportedly set off outrage amongst some students, who supposedly showered the suspect with stones and invited youths from the neighborhood to the school hostel in an effort to attack him.
Authorities said the situation was rapidly brought under control through the intervention of a patrol team, preventing further escalation.
