UYO, AKWA IBOM STATE— In a landmark transfer to modernize the class experience, the Akwa Ibom State Government has actually introduced an Expert system (AI) powered standard education reform programme.

The effort, developed to strengthen fundamental literacy and numeracy, marks a substantial shift toward data-driven direction in the state’s public main schools.

The programme is a core part of Governor Umo Bassey Eno’s ARISE Agenda, which prioritizes education as the main engine for human capital development and financial self-reliance.

Executed in partnership with the worldwide education firm EIDU and the State Ministry of Education, the program introduces an AI-enabled model that offers teachers with structured, digital lesson guides.

For students, the technology offers personalized knowing activities tailored to their specific pace and understanding levels.

Using technology is meant to support, rather than change, teachers. Teachers will now have access to real-time information, enabling them to track the development of every kid and identify specific learning gaps before they become long-term academic obstacles.

The first phase of the rollout is set to reach 6,000 students throughout 67 public main schools during the current academic session.

This pilot stage will act as a blueprint for a state-wide expansion, testing the combination of digital tools in diverse classroom environments.

The State Commissioner for Education, Professor Ubong Essien Umoh, lauded the initiative as a transformative action for the state.

He emphasized that the ARISE Agenda’s focus on fundamental education guarantees that Akwa Ibom kids are worldwide competitive from their earliest years of education.

By incorporating AI into the standard education sector, Akwa Ibom signs up with an elite group of sub-national federal governments utilizing 4th Industrial Revolution tools to solve persistent difficulties in the public school system.
