Polytechnic Confirms Suspensions Amidst Appeals for Executive Action
Reacting to the allegations, the Polytechnic Spokesperson, Mr John Onimisi, verified that the organization’s management has taken direct disciplinary action against impacted scholastic workers.
Onimisi disclosed that seven speakers were suspended on Wednesday, July 22, 2026. 6 were penalised for requiring unauthorised book and handout sales on trainees, while one lecturer was suspended particularly for sexual harassment.
“The disciplinary committee of the polytechnic is already investigating the accusations, and the result will be offered to reporters,” Onimisi specified, though he did not explicitly address the reports of nighttime cult activity.
Meanwhile, student groups and parents have appealed to Kogi State Guv, Usman Ododo, to step in directly, requiring an independent audit to bring back academic integrity and safety across the organization.
