The Federal Government has intensified the execution of the National Policy on Anti-Bullying as part of efforts to remove bullying in schools and ensure every Nigerian kid finds out in a safe, inclusive and encouraging environment.
The restored dedication was declared during a sensitisation workshop organised by the Federal Ministry of Education in collaboration with the Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC), in line with the vision of the Minister of Education, Dr. Maruf Tunji Alausa, to strengthen school safety, promote trainees’ well-being and develop safe and secure knowing environments across the country.
Speaking at the workshop, the Executive Secretary of UBEC, Dr. Aisha Garba, represented by the Deputy Executive Secretary, Hon. Olajuwon Rasaq Akinyemi, urged trainees to accept the campaign message, “If you see something, state something,” encouraging victims and witnesses of bullying to report occurrences without fear.
According to the Ministry, sustained awareness campaigns and the strengthened execution of the National Policy on Anti-Bullying have actually already resulted in a decline in reported bullying cases in schools.
The Federal Government likewise restated its dedication to deepening partnership with stakeholders, improving reporting mechanisms and guaranteeing the effective implementation of anti-bullying steps to safeguard learners and promote safe, inclusive and learner-friendly schools nationwide.
The workshop, arranged by the Federal Ministry of Education in collaboration with UBEC, forms part of ongoing efforts under the Renewed Hope Program to promote a safer and more helpful learning environment for all Nigerian trainees.
