The Lagos State Government has actually held off all documents set up for Wednesday, July 1, 2026, in the ongoing Fundamental Education Certificate Examination (BECE) following the statement of the Oro Celebration in parts of the Ikorodu Department.

The announcement was made in a declaration issued on Tuesday by the Lagos State Examinations Board through the Ministry of Fundamental and Secondary Education.

According to the Board, the decision followed assessments with pertinent stakeholders and was taken as a precautionary procedure to ensure the security of candidates, assessment authorities, and other stakeholders, while ensuring the smooth conduct of the assessment.

The Board said all affected papers earlier slated for Wednesday, July 1, will now be composed on Tuesday, July 7, 2026.

It added that all other assessment documents would be conducted on their formerly scheduled dates.

The Board expressed remorse over any inconvenience the modification may trigger and appealed for the understanding and cooperation of moms and dads, guardians, school authorities, candidates, and the public.

Candidates were recommended to acquire the revised assessment schedule from their particular schools and make adequate preparations for the rescheduled documents.

The statement was signed by the Registrar of the Lagos State Examinations Board, Mr. Adebayo Orunsolu.
