The Senate of Federal University Dutse, FUD, Jigawa State, has authorized 5 brand-new degree programmes under the Faculty of Basic Medical Sciences. The relocation provides trainees more study options in
health-related fields. The details came through the university’s weekly newsletter launched on 11 May 2026.

Why FUD Added the Programmes
The Vice-Chancellor of Federal University Dutse, Professor Ahmad Muhammed Gumel, commended the Faculty of Basic Medical Sciences for beginning the process that caused the approval.
He stated the brand-new courses would support the university’s MBBS program and produce more scholastic openings for prospective students who wish to study health-related courses. That relate to MBBS provides the professors a wider health training base.
Faculty Capability and Assistance
Teacher Gumel expressed self-confidence that the faculty could run the new programmes well. He pointed to improved manpower after 13 PhD holders recently returned from their research studies.
He also said communities require specialists in these medical and health care fields. The university management, according to him, will keep providing the required support for the programmes to succeed.
