The Chartered Institute of Personnel Management of Nigeria has opened entries for
its 2026 Annual Essay Competition. The contest invites undergraduates in Nigerian tertiary schools to examine a question many trainees currently ask, even if they do not constantly state it aloud: does college prepare graduates genuine work?

“Are Nigerian Tertiary Institutions Really Preparing Students for the World of Work?”
CIPM desires entrants to compose on this subject with clear arguments, appropriate referencing and a strong grasp of the topic. The essay should remain within the mentioned word limit.
Who Can Get in
Just undergrads studying in Nigerian tertiary schools can participate.

Essay Guidelines
CIPM needs each entry to satisfy these rules:

- Entries should be sent out as an MS Word file just.

Prizes for Winners
CIPM will reward the leading three entries with cash prizes and HRM books.
Position Reward First Prize 300,000 + 2 HRM books Second Reward 250,000 + 2 HRM books 3rd Reward 200,000 + 2 HRM books All reward winners will also receive access to a network of companies.
CIPM will offer totally free trainee membership registration to reward winners who are not yet members; winners will also get an all-expense paid journey to Abuja for the CIPM 2026 International Conference & Exhibitions.
Documents Needed for Submission
Applicants need to submit their essay with the following products:
- ID card from the trainee’s current school
- Copy of admission letter to the trainee’s current school
- One recent passport-sized photo
- Current mobile telephone number
- Email address
CIPM requires candidates to scan these documents and include them to the essay as one Microsoft Word file.
How to Submit Entries
Applicants must send out the complete Microsoft Word file to:
