    LASU Convocation Ceremony Schedule for 2024/2025 and 2025/2026 Graduands

    Lagos State University, LASU, has actually announced the programme of occasions for its 29th and 30th Convocation Events. The Vice-Chancellor, Distinguished Professor Ibiyemi Ibilola Olatunji-Bello, mni, npom, gave the notification on behalf of the management and staff of the university to graduands of the 2024/2025 and 2025/2026 academic sessions, moms and dads, guardians, stakeholders, the university community and the general public.

    LASU Pre-Convocation Events

    The pre-convocation activities will begin on Wednesday, 12 August 2026, with an interview and a sports competitors for personnel.

    Day 1: Wednesday, 12 August 2026

    Convocation Press Conference

    The Convocation Interview will hold at the First Flooring, Senate Chamber, Babatunde Raji Fashola Senate Building, Main Campus, Ojo, Lagos.

    The time is 10:00 a.m.

    Convocation Sports Competitors for Staff

    The Convocation Sports Competitors for Staff will occur at the LASU Sports Centre, Main School, Ojo, Lagos.

    The occasion starts at 12:00 midday.

    LASU Convocation Events

    The main convocation occasions will cover staff event, cultural activities, religious services, degree awards, a convocation lecture, doctorate awards and thanksgiving.

    Day 2: Thursday, 13 August 2026

    Staff Event Day will hold at the Buba Marwa Auditorium, Main Campus, Ojo, Lagos.

    Employee will dress to represent their private tribes, and the occasion will begin at 2:00 p.m.

    Day 3: Friday, 14 August 2026

    Coconut Breaking and Cultural Day

    Coconut Breaking and Cultural Day will hold at the Badagry Gate Entrance, Main School, Ojo, Lagos.

    The event starts at 9:00 a.m.

    Convocation Jumat Service

    The Convocation Jumat Service will take place at the University Mosque, Main Campus, Ojo, Lagos.

    The service begins at 1:00 p.m.

    Day 4: Monday, 17 August 2026

    LASU will award Diplomas, First Degrees, Postgraduate Diplomas and Master’s Degrees in Engineering, Farming and Science.

    The event will hold at the Olatunji Bello Auditorium, Epe School, Epe, Lagos, by 10:00 a.m.

    Day 5: Tuesday, 18 August 2026

    Convocation Lecture

    The Convocation Lecture will hold at the Buba Marwa Auditorium, Main School, Ojo, Lagos.

    The time is 9:00 a.m.

    Award of Other Diplomas and Degrees

    LASU will award other Diplomas, First Degrees, Postgraduate Diplomas and Master’s Degrees on the very same day.

    The event will hold at the Buba Marwa Auditorium, Main School, Ojo, Lagos, by 10:00 a.m.

    Day 6: Wednesday, 19 August 2026

    The award of Expert and Academic Doctorate Degrees, PhD, and the conferment of Honorary Doctorate Degrees will hang on Wednesday, 19 August 2026.

    The venue is Buba Marwa Auditorium, Main School, Ojo, Lagos, and the time is 10:00 a.m.

    Day 7: Sunday, 23 August 2026

    The Unique Convocation Thanksgiving Service will hold at the University Chapel, likewise known as Chapel of Light, Main School, Ojo, Lagos.

    The service begins at 10:00 a.m.

    Notification to LASU Graduands

    LASU has launched clear directions for all graduands of the 2024/2025 and 2025/2026 academic sessions.

    Graduands who wish to spend for the convocation plan need to check out the LASU convocation payment website and follow the payment instructions.

    Academic Dress Return and Charges

    Graduands need to return scholastic dress right away after the event, with the most recent return date repaired for Friday, 21 August 2026.

    Any graduand who keeps the academic dress after Friday, 21 August 2026, will pay a fine of 1,000.00 for each day of default.

    A graduand who loses or damages an academic dress will pay a replacement fee of 36,000.00 for First Degree graduands and 45,000.00 for Postgraduate Diploma and Master’s graduands.

    Certificate Collection

    Certificates will be all set for collection immediately after the Convocation Event.

    This applies only after the graduand returns the scholastic dress.

    Cap, Tassel and Academic Dress Rules

    Very first degree graduands will move the tassels of their caps from right to left at the point where the Vice-Chancellor declares, “I admit you all”.

    That act marks their admission into the body of graduates of Lagos State University, LASU.

    Higher degree recipients need to use their caps with the tassels on the left-hand side, given that they already hold very first degrees.

    Graduands need to ask Professors Officers or School Secretaries for assistance so that the hood and cap sit well, with the tassels placed on the right where needed.

    Female graduands should show courtesy when they shake hands with the Vice-Chancellor.

    Male graduands must bow, but they should not remove their caps.

    Seating and Movement Rules for LASU Convocation

    Parents, guardians and invited guests must take a seat not behind 8:30 a.m. on each convocation day.

    Graduands should sign up with the Convocation Procession by 9:00 a.m.; anybody who stops working to do so will not go into the University Auditorium.

    Each faculty will have seats set aside for its graduands.

    LASU will not enable unauthorised motion or photography throughout the convocation ceremony. Graduands should take pictures before entering the University Auditorium or wait up until the event ends.

    Any graduand who leaves a seat while the event is going on will not return to the auditorium.

    Graduands and invited guests seated under the canopy outside the University Auditorium must maintain order and stand as the Academic Procession goes into and leaves the convocation venue.

    Graduands need to bathrobe appropriately and follow the colour recommended for their professors.

    All graduands need to begin and complete clearance at their Colleges, Schools or Faculties before the convocation so that they can collect their degree certificates without delay.

    The Vice-Chancellor congratulates all graduands, moms and dads, guardians, stakeholders and the LASU neighborhood on the combined 29th and 30th Convocation Events.
