Stronger local presence
“The opening of the workplace will supply our UA Ruhr intermediary workplace with regional assistance in Kazakhstan. This indicates that the tactically crucial and geographically extensive region of Eastern Europe/Central Asia can be supported much more intensively in future,” states Elena Resch, Director of the Liaison Office. At the same time, the existing dedication of the Intermediary Office in the entire Eastern European region will continue unchanged from Bochum.
Cooperation with Central Asia is ending up being increasingly essential. The topics reflect the typical tactical interests of Germany and the Central Asian states:
- Energy and sustainability
- Basic material and resource management
- Climate security and environmental research study
- Digitalization and expert system
- Water and environmental management
- Health research
- Movement and infrastructure
- Education and university advancement
To further magnify cooperation, the UA Ruhr is planning an online event with leading universities in Central Asia in September 2026. The objective is to start new partnerships and expand existing collaborations.
