The National Universities Commission has granted full accreditation to 11 academic programs at the Federal University Birnin Kebbi, after the commission’s October/November 2025 accreditation exercise.
The update appeared in a declaration released by the university’s Head of Information and Public Relations, Mr Jamilu Magaji, to newsmen on Wednesday in Birnin Kebbi. The result can be found in a letter dated April 7, 2026; it was signed by the NUC Director of Accreditation, Engr. Abraham Chundusu, on behalf of the Executive Secretary.

Mr Magaji said the accreditation followed the October/November 2025 exercise performed by the commission. He added that the April 7, 2026 letter communicated the result to the university in clear terms.
The certified programmes cover both undergraduate and postgraduate research study. Each of the 11 programs received Full accreditation.

Responding to the outcome, the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Muhammad Zaiyan-Umar, said the accreditation declares FUBK’s growing scholastic track record and its commitment to excellence.
He said:
“This success is a reflection of the hard work and commitment of our scholastic and administrative personnel, the assistance of the University’s Governing Council, and the dedication of our staff and students.
“We remain focused on building a strong and trusted university that fulfills international standards.”
