The Nigerian Army Education Corps has actually rolled out a nationwide academic assistance effort focused on improving trainees’ performance across Command Secondary Schools ahead of crucial external examinations.

The program, led by Acting Corps Leader Education, Yushau Dogara Ahmed, is created to reinforce both teaching quality and students’ readiness for examinations conducted by West African Examinations Council (WAEC), National Examinations Council (NECO), and the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB).

Speaking at the launch, Ahmed directed Command Secondary Schools nationwide to organise specialised scholastic workshops and targeted training sessions for instructors and Senior Secondary School Three (SS3) students.

“All Command Secondary Schools are to organise specialised academic workshops and training sessions to enhance teaching effectiveness and reinforce trainees’ preparedness for WAEC, NECO and JAMB assessments,” he stated.

As part of the effort, schools will carry out intensive revision classes, academic centers, and assessment technique workshops concentrated on core disciplines. The sessions are being helped with by experienced education officers and subject specialists, providing trainees with practical guidance, revision support, and time management strategies for assessments.

The programme, that includes a seven-day intensive training for teachers and SS3 trainees scheduled in between March and April 2026, becomes part of a wider effort by the Nigerian Army Education Corps to increase instructional capacity and academic quality.

“This initiative belongs to our more comprehensive commitment to boosting teachers’ training capability and equipping students with the scholastic skills required for outstanding performance in external evaluations,” Ahmed added.
