The University of Lagos (UNILAG) on Monday honoured Professor Musa Obalola, the immediate past Dean of Trainee Affairs (DSA), in acknowledgment of his impactful period.

The short ceremony was held throughout the University Management’s weekly conference at the Vice-Chancellor’s Boardroom on the 10th Flooring of the UNILAG Senate Home.

Speaking at the event, Vice-Chancellor Teacher Folasade Ogunsola, OON, FAS, said the event was arranged to “acknowledge, congratulate, and celebrate Teacher Obalola for an impactful tenure that was extensively valued by the student neighborhood.”

She commended him for making and sustaining the regard and goodwill of students, keeping in mind that his management contributed considerably to the atmosphere of peace and stability within the University during his term.

Members of the University Management also lauded Professor Obalola for his devotion to securing trainees’ rights while maintaining discipline, highlighting his maturity, wisdom, diligence, persistence, and professionalism throughout his four-year period as substantive Dean.

In his remarks, Teacher Obalola expressed gratitude to God and the University Management, keeping in mind that their support made it possible for the administration to accomplish significant successes in trainee affairs.

Professor Obalola had formerly functioned as Deputy Dean of Student Affairs from October 2020 to October 2021, and as Acting Dean from November 2021 to March 2022, before being selected substantive Dean in March 2022. His tenure highlighted useful engagement between the administration and trainees while preserving peace and stability within the institution.
