The Nigerian Women Association of Georgia, USA, has opened applications for its 2026 Scholarship Awards. The group will award 111 one-time scholarships to female undergraduate trainees presently enrolled in Nigerian universities. The awards will be shared across the nation, with three slots for each State of Origin and three slots for the Federal Capital Area.

All awards will be paid in the Naira equivalent.
Who can apply
The scholarship is open to female undergraduate trainees in Nigerian universities.

Documents needed for the NWAG scholarship application
Each applicant needs to send a completed application with the needed documents.
Proof of state of origin
The applicant needs to provide a letter of origination from the university or from a local government workplace.
Recommendation letters
The candidate needs to offer 2 recommendation letters from any 2 of these persons:
- Pastor or Imam
- Town Head
- City Government Chairperson
- University Lecturer or Head of Department
Academic recommendation
The candidate must also submit one suggestion letter from the Dean of Professors or the School Head of Department.
Method of recognition
A photocopy of the present university student ID card is needed.
Passport photo
The candidate must submit a current passport picture.
Personal statement
The application should include a description, not over half a typed page, stating why the trainee needs and must get the scholarship.
Essay submission
Each candidate needs to send a two-page, double-spaced, type-written essay on the stated subject.
Essay topic and AI usage rule
The essay topic is:
“How can Nigeria harness renewable resource and sustainable practices to create jobs and drive economic growth?”
NWAG states that candidates may use AI tools for approximately 25% of the essay submission. The remaining 75% should reveal the candidate’s initial concepts and voice.
Excessive AI usage might cause disqualification.
