A minimum of 21 people, consisting of 20 schoolchildren, lost their lives after a school bus was associated with a deadly road mishap in Uganda, authorities have actually verified.
The crash happened as pupils of King David Junior School in Kampala were returning from a trip to the Sipi Falls traveler area in Kapchorwa District.
According to a declaration issued by the Uganda Police on Friday, preliminary findings suggest that the driver lost control of the bus, causing it to divert off the road before crashing into a large roadside rock and reversing.
Cops stated the mishap declared the lives of 20 pupils and one adult male. Three other men, in addition to a number of kids, sustained differing degrees of injuries and were required to hospital for treatment.
Images launched by the cops revealed the bus thoroughly damaged after the crash.
Authorities said investigations are underway to identify the exact circumstances surrounding the incident.

Uganda has continued to grapple with a high rate of roadway traffic mishaps, especially those involving industrial buses and sturdy automobiles, typically attributed to poor road conditions and other safety concerns.
In October 2025, at least 46 people were eliminated after two buses clashed on one of the country’s major highways.
Official data launched in 2024 showed that Uganda tape-recorded 4,434 deadly roadway crashes, leading to 5,144 deaths.
